About This Kitchen

Versatile Cooking & Timeless Design

The Firepits UK Modular Kitchen Tall Pizza Oven is designed for more than just traditional wood-fired pizzas. With an enlarged cooking chamber and a second shelf, this oven provides the flexibility to roast meats, bake bread, and prepare a variety of flame-cooked dishes. Its stylish, freestanding design makes it a striking addition to any garden, whether used alone or as part of a larger modular outdoor kitchen setup.

Flexible Outdoor Kitchen Integration

This modular pizza oven is part of the Firepits UK Modular Kitchen range, allowing you to expand your outdoor cooking space over time. Pair it with the Modular Kitchen Fire Bowl with Log Store or the Modular Kitchen Work Station to create a fully customised outdoor kitchen that suits your space and cooking style. The modular design means you can reposition and rearrange the setup whenever you like.

Built to Last

Handcrafted in high-quality British steel, this durable pizza oven is designed to withstand the elements. Regular maintenance will keep it in top condition — simply oil the hinges with 3-in-1 oil and, where possible, store the oven door indoors during winter.

Maintaining Your Fire Pit

NB: All fire pits, lids, and accessories will begin to oxidise immediately and won't maintain a black finish — this doesn't affect long-term durability. As these fire pits are handmade from sheet steel with naturally occurring blemishes, slight variations in forging and finish are normal.

Care and Maintenance

Safety

  • Supervise children at all times when the fire is lit, as the steel becomes very hot.
  • Set your fire pit on stone, brick, gravel, or a slab on decking — it will develop rust as it ages, which can mark stone surfaces. On grass, it may scorch underneath.
  • Ensure sparks can't reach anything flammable.
  • Keep water on hand in case you need to dampen the fire.
  • Always use protective gloves when handling BBQ racks and other hot accessories.
  • Make sure your fire pit is out, or the lid is on, before leaving it unattended.

Using Your Fire Pit

  • Use well-seasoned dry wood to reduce smoke, or charcoal (not house coal).
  • Build a fire with plenty of logs and burn for at least half an hour before use — the first half hour produces the most smoke.
  • Ideally, leave an hour before cooking to let embers form. Push larger logs to one side to keep the fire going while cooking over embers.
  • In a hurry? Add charcoal once the fire is going and move larger logs aside.
  • Swing arm and tripod racks aren't designed for prolonged use over intense flames — place them over embers when ready to cook.
  • Cooking accessories are treated with oil before use; heat over the fire and wash well before first use. After each use, rub with a little cooking oil once dry. Remove any rust with a wire brush before re-oiling.
  • After cooking, remove the rack, add more logs, and enjoy the warmth of the fire.

Looking After Your Fire Pit

  • Your fire pit will develop an even, rusty patina over time — this won't affect use or longevity, but can be cleaned up with a wire brush and a rub of oil such as WD40.
  • A lid protects the bowl and keeps the ash and burnt wood dry for next use — it also works as a snuffer and a table top when not in use.
  • Without a lid, clean out the fire pit after use and keep the raised disc at the bottom clear of ash to stop rainwater collecting.
  • Indian fire bowls are made from thinner steel and should be cared for the same way, though they won't last quite as long due to the lighter gauge.
